Floyd "Jack" Fiedler, 85, of Spencer died Sunday, May 12, 1996 at Longhouse Residence in Spencer.

Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. today at Warner Chapel in Spencer with the Rev. Ronald Courtney officiating.

Casket bearers will be Kent Christensen, Darrell Frerichs, Robert Heronemus, Ron Christensen, Tom Gross and Gary Reason. Honorary casket bearers will be Harold Christensen, Bob LaBrant, Tom Elliott and Bud Loretenzen.

Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Spencer. Warner Funeral Home of Spencer is in charge of arrangements.

Guest are invited to a luncheon at Stub's Ranch Kitchen following the committal service.

Floyd "Jack" Anton Fiedler, son of Gustav and Anna Bowers Fiedler, was born June, 8, 1910 in Clay County. His childhood years were spent in Clay County, where he received his early education in the Harmony county schools.

He married Vennetta Marie VanSickle on Oct. 14, 1933 in Spencer. Throughout their marriage they lived in Clay County. Mr. Fiedler farmed his entire life in Gillette Grove Township.

Mr. Fiedler was active in the community and supported the Greenville Friends Church. He continued to support the church after it was moved to Spencer and became the Spencer Church of the Nazarene. He served for 15 years on the board of directors of the Farmers Coop Elevator in Spencer, and also served as a trustee for the Gillette Grove Township.

He was preceded in death by is parents, three brothers and an infant sister.

He is survived by his wife; one son, Jacque Floyd "Bud" and his wife, Ann, of Vinton; and one daughter, Lori Lee Crabb and her husband, Tom, of West Des Moines; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
