Memorial services for Barbara F. Shipe of Carlisle will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. in St. John's Episcopal Church, Hanover and High streets Carlisle.

She died Sunday, July 7, 2002, at Cumberland Crossing Retirement Community, South Middleton Township.

Born in Tacoma, Wash., she was the daughter of the late Morris and Grace Wells Fairchild and the widow of Col. B. Hoyt Shipe, who died in 1995.

A graduate of Washington State University, she was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church and Kappa Alpha Theta women's fraternity.

Mrs. Shipe is survived by a son, Michael Sage of Ellicott City, Md.; two daughters, Patricia Kistler of Mt. Holly Springs and Stephanie Long of Austin, Texas; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Capt. Terence F. Sage, and a daughter, Barbara Sage Bussard.

The Rev. Mark A. Scheneman and the Rev. Jane Barr will officiate at services. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Westminster Memorial Gardens, Carlisle.
