Major League Baseball Player. Nicknamed "Cocoa", he was a shortstop making his debut with the San Francisco Giants on April 16, 1967. For four seasons, he was a utility player for the San Francisco Giants (1967, 1969), Detroit Tigers (1969-71) and on June 21, 1970, in the second game of a doubleheader between the Detroit Tigers and Cleveland Indians, he had seven hits in seven at bats including a triple to tie a Major League record for hits in a game without making an out. He ended his career with a record of 128 hits, 61 runs scored, 26 runs batted in, a .235 batting average and a .953 fielding percentage.
