Jack Pengilley Retired Carpenter
Funeral services for John (Jack) Pengilley will be held at the Wayside Chapel, Rosamond on Friday, Aug. 6th.
Mr. Pengilley made his, home at 1858 20th St., Rosamond. He was born in England on Sept 14, 1886, and passed away at his home on Aug. 3rd. He was 84.
He came to Kern County and California in 1937. He last worked on the construction of Edwards Air Force Base, and was a retired carpenter.
He is survived by his wife, Honora at the home; a son, John R. Pengilley, Rosamond; two daughters, Lillian Rodriguez and Emma Cluff, both of Rosamond; a brother Ned of Farmington, N.M.; three sisters, Rosetta West, Mae Milan, and Emily Spindloe, all in Ill.; six grandchildren & 12 great grandchildren.
The 3:00 p.m. services will be conducted by the Rev. Thomas I. Bailey. Interment will be in Mojave Cemetery.
Arrangements are being handled by Stickel Mortuaries of Mojave.

Former Resident Dies

Jack Pengilley, 84, of Rosamond, Calif., formerly of Herrin, died Wednesday at his home. He was born Sept. 13, 1886, in Yorkshire, England. He is survived by his wife, Nora; three children; three sisters, Mrs. Emily Spindloe of Murphysboro, and Mrs. May Milam and Mrs. Resetta West, both of Herrin; a brother Ned of Farmington, N.M., and several grandchildren. Funeral arrangements are incomplete in California.
