Danny Perez Killed, Vern Howard Hurt

Daniel E. (Danny) Perez, was instantly killed and Vern Howard, his passenger, was seriously injured in a head-on collision 3½ miles north of Rosamond at midnight Sunday, July 31 on Hwy. 6.
Also fatally injured was Jerome Ira Scherr of Los Angeles, driver of the other car. He died in Mojave hospital three hours after the midnight crash. A woman passenger in the Scherr vehicle, Pat Glass, suffered minor injuries which were treated after which she was released. They were returning from Bishop after taking her brother to a summer camp.
Perez and Howard were returning home from an ocean fishing trip in the Perez car, and one of the few witnesses to the accident said he saw a flash when the cars came together, but no blame for the accident has been set as yet
Vern Howard, Manager of the O'Donnell Funeral Home in Mojave, is presently resting in Mojave hospital holding his own according to information released.
The body of Scherr was shipped to Lewes Funeral Home in Baltimore, Md., for funeral services by the O'Donnell Funeral Home in Mojave.
