Thirty-eight-year-old Jesse Mearl Coty shot and killed himself early Thursday evening at his Mojave home, Coroner Norman C. Houze reported today.
Giving no reason for taking his own life, Coty shot himself through the head with a 22-caliber rifle in the bathroom of his home.
The body was found by Mrs. Lois Roberta Hopewell, of the same address, who Coty had sent out for a newspaper, when she returned to her home, Coroner's Investigator John Werts said.
Coty had recently been released from his job as cook in the Tower Café, Mojave, according to coroner's reports. Funeral rites are pending at O'Donnell Funeral Home in Mojave.
