Services For Herb Roberts

Graveside services for Herbert S. "Herb" Roberts, 81, a 28-year resident of Mojave, will be held at the Mojave Cemetery at 11:30 a.m. today, Dec. 5th.

Mr. Roberts was born in Galesburg, Ill., on Dec 5, 1892, and passed away in a North Hollywood convalescent home Dec. 1st. He moved to Mojave about 1946, and was the General Yardmaster for Southern Pacific Railroad until his retirement several years ago.

He married his wife, Vera, in Mojave, and they made their home at 16001 I St. She preceded him in death in 1972. Mr. Roberts was one of several local men immortalized in a mural painted on the wall of the old Pioneer Club.

His only survivor is a step son, William Latham, of Los Angeles.

Rev. Kenneth Pults, Church of the Nazarene, Mojave, will conduct the service. Stickel Mortuaries are in charge of local arrangements.
