Fatal Injuries To Boron Boy
A 12-year-old Boron boy died of head injuries received last Thursday evening when he fell from the back of a pickup truck
which was being driven by his uncle.
Frankie Parker, 24183 Joshua, was taken to Boron Hospital, and then transferred to A V Hospital, where he died at 7:20 a.m. July 19.
Robert Herbert, the uncle, told California Highway Patrol officers that he was unaware that the youngster was in the pickup. He and a friend had been at the union hall, and were on their way to the Joshua address, when Frankie evidently stood up, and then fell from the bed of the truck into the street, landing on his head and shoulders.
The fall was witnessed by a neighbor. Herbert also told the CHP officers that he was unaware of the accident, until he parked the truck and noticed a crowd gathered down the street. When he joined the crowd, he recognized the injured boy as his nephew.
