Husband of Geraldine F. Lay who resided in Kansas City, Missouri.

Allen served as a Second Lieutenant & Pilot on B-25D-1 "Hell's Fire" #41-30278, 500th Bomber Squadron, 345th Bomber Group, Medium, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.

He resided in Kansas City, Missouri prior to the war.

B-25D #41-30278 took off, with a crew of 6 and other B-25's, on a strike mission over the Sulawesi, Indonesia area.

They were shot down by Japanese fighter aircraft and crashed at the base of Mount Tongkoko north of Sulawesi, Indonesia.

Allen was "Killed In Action" in this crash during the war.

He was awarded the Air Medal and the Purple Heart.

He was originally interred in the Barrakpore Cemetery, India and was later repatriated here on June 20, 1949.
