Henry Ambrose Sr. was born in England about 1613. He came to America where he followed the trade of house carpenter. He lived in Boston, Massachusetts in 1640 where he was made a freedman May 18, 1642. He bought land in Salisbury in 1649. He lived in Charlestown in 1653 and in Boston in 1654, at which time he sold some of his Salisbury land. He returned to Salisbury circa 1655, where he remained until he died. Henry died in 1658 and his widow Susanna married John Severance before 1664. Susannah and Henry Ambose Sr were the parents of: Ebenezer, Samuel, Henry Jr, and Abigail.
