Funera1 services for Edward E. Stanley, 73, were held in Mojave on Feb. 18th.
Mr. Stanley was retired from U. S. Borax where he had been an electrician. He was born in Macon, Georgia, on Oct. 20th, 1900, and passed away in a Lancaster hospital on Feb. 14.
The Stanleys were one of the first seven families to settle in California City, and they made their home there for 11 years. They had also lived at Wofford Heights, Lake Isabella for three years before moving to Mojave last December.
Mr. Stanley served in the U.S. Army during WW II. He had lived in Calif. since the 1930's and in Kern County since 1945. He is survived by his wife,Orpha, at the home at 2121 Nadeau, Mojave.
. The Rev. Billy Robison of Bakersfield officiated at the 11a.m. service held in the Stickel Mortuaries Chapel. Interment was in the Mojave Cemetery. Pallbearers were Dale Skeen, J. R. Hobbs, W. A. Spears, C. Bruce Murphey, Don Bishop and Jasper Moore. Honorary pallbearers were Richard Melcher and Leroy Daniels.
