SIDER, Joan – of Welland, at the Welland Hospital on Monday, December 24, 2012 at age 75. Beloved wife for 57 years of Donald Sider. Loving mother of Barbara Middlebrooks (Robert) of Orillia, Donald Sider Jr. of Niagara Falls and the late James Sider (1986). Cherished grandmother of Matthew and Christopher. Dear sister of Donald Reid (Gigi), Pat VanDelen (John), Sandra Yeomans (Cal) and Wendy Scheer (Garry). Lovingly remembered by one niece and three nephews. Predeceased by her parents Mary and James Reid and her mother and father-in-law Helen and Andrew Sider. Mrs. Sider was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #4, Welland, and volunteered at the tuck shop at the old Sunset Haven for many years. Friends are invited to visit the family at the H.L. CUDNEY FUNERAL HOME, 241 West Main Street, Welland, on Friday, December 28th from 3 – 5 p.m. and 7 – 9 p.m. The funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, December 29th at 11:00 a.m. in the Cudney chapel. Interment will follow in Maple Lawn Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to the Leukemia Society would be greatly appreciated by the family.
