Son of Wm. and Louisa (Beall) Brannon. Wm. b. VA, Louisa b. KY . Thatcher m. Juletta McNaught 3 Dec 1882 Clay Co. TX. They had six children: Louisa, Winnie, George, Elmer, Frank and Juletta. Thatcher served in Co. E, 7th Ky. Cavalry, CSA in Civil War with Morgan's Raiders. POW Camp Douglas and Fort Delaware. Furloughed from Chimborazo Hospital, Richmond, VA, Sept. 1864. Store manager of Grogan's General Store, Sugden, IT. Died from complications of injuries suffered while unloading hay bales from wagon. Letter of daughter talks about Papa's grave in cemetery north of town (Sugden) with wooden picket fence no longer there.
