Prominent Boron Man Passes On Tuesday
The whole commurtty of Boron and vicinity was shocked on Tuesday of this week to learn of the sudden death of Charles Cecil Trenary, 57, who passed away as a result of a heart attack superinduced by an illness from which he had been suffering for a few days past. Everyone knew Charlie for he had been a continuous resident of Boron for the past 20 years.
Born in Gainesville, Texas on September 12, 1890, he spent his younger days in that locality coming to the desert in 1921 for the health of his family, he bought a homestead east of Muroc and was engaged in the cattle business there for six years when he sold his interests and moved the family to Boron where he has been one of the town's leading successful businessmen from that time to the present.
He died possessed of very large fland holdings and other property there and is credited with having built the first building in that vicinity and to have opened the first subdivision. Charlie always knew that water was obtainable in that region and so he early, started drilling for wells the water from which he sold to various residents as they moved in.
As a mark of respect when news of the death was heard all business houses in Boron closed up for the day.
He leaves his wife, Edith, and a son, Donald George of Boron, a son, Richard Melvin, of Elsinore; two daughters, Mrs. Margaret Erickson, and Mrs. Katherine Kaye of Murietta, Calif., a brother James of Los Angeles and a brother John whose address is unknown.
Funeral services under the direction of O'Donnell Funeral Home will be held in Boron at the Boron Community Church with the Reverend Horton officiating on Friday afternoon interment will be in Mojave Cemetery.
