Succumes (sic) From Heart Attack

Henri L. Chenard of 719 "I" St. passed away in the Mojave Medical Center, Saturday, February 5. He had been confined for the past 10 days suffering from a heart attack.
Mr. Chenard was born in Paris, France, February 5, 1895. When he was 1½ years old his parents, Joseph and Marie Chenard, moved to the United States and settled in the eastern part of the States. In 1917 he came to the West Coast and settled in Escondido, Calif., but two years later moved to Bakersfield where he' resided until making Mojave his home 26 years ago.
Mr. Chenard had been employed by the Southern Pacific railroad for 37 years.. He was a member of Al Malaikah Temple, Kern Co. Shrine Club, Masonic Lodge No. 313 of Tehachapi since 1933, White Shrine of Bakersfield, Amaranth Court of Mojave; Eastern Star of Tehachapi and Brotherhood Maintenance of Way.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 9, at O'Donnell Funeral Home Chapel in Mojave with Masonic services. Worshipful Master Henry Bartholomew was in charge Chaplain was Judge William Woods prayer
was offered by Earl Whitney.
Active pallbearers were Max Carol, Bob Addudell, Henry Oswald, Rollo Carmichael, Jack Houck and Eldon Smitn.
Honorary pallbearers were Frank Puckett, Paul Jones, Jack Papenberg, Stanley Richardson, and Charles Tomaier
Survivors include his wife, Katherine Chenard, one son, Henri L., Jr., of Encino, Calif.,. one daughter, Vivian G. Chase of Mojave, three grandchildren in Mojave, Henri, Donna and Robert' Chase, three brothers, Felix of San Francisco, Michael of Los Angeles, and Gabriel of Bakersfield, one sister, Suzette Walton of El Monte, Calif., and numerous nieces and nephews in Los Angeles area, Bakersfield and Chicago.
