Kansas Matron Is Victim Of Illness
Mojave – Jan. 2 – Funeral services for Mrs. Iva Casteel, 28, were conducted at the Mojave Community Congregational Church on Thursday afternoon. Mrs. Pauline Wilson officiated.
Mrs. Casteel who came to Mojave three weeks ago from Baxter Springs, Kans., passed away at the family home on Monday morning after a lingering illness. She is survived by her husband, Ervin Casteel, two daughters, June and Evelyn, and a nephew, Clarence Endicott, all residing in Mojave. Her mother, Mrs. Retta Bloomfield and another daughter, Genevieve, reside in Zincville, Okla.
Pallbearers were Mesdames Freda Burns, Vada White, Frances Schrum, Edith Snow, Blanche English, and Miss Irene Cook. Arrangements were in charge of the Mumaw Funeral Home in Lancaster. Interment was in the Mojave Cemetery.
