The Rosary will be recited Friday night, and the Funeral Mass on Saturday morning, for Umberto Cappello, a. 52-year
resident of Mojave.

Mr. Cappello was born on Dec. 13, 1890, in Cavaso, Italy, and passed away in a Lancaster convalescent hospital on Feb. 4. He was 84 years old. He came to Mojave in 1922, and opened his own restaurant in 1923. The restaurant was located where the French Cafe is now, and was known as The Tower Cafe. He was a member of the Eagles in Bakersfield.

He is survived by his wife, Guiseppina, at the home at 2000 Shasta St. in Mojave. Other survivors include three daughters, Rena Chenard, Bakersfield; Annie Alesi, Mojave; Mary Michael, Santee; a sister, Lena Mascotto, Italy; three brothers, Angelo, Mojave; Enrico, Queens Bay, Australia; and Fausto, Bakersfield: eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Rev. James Maloney will officiate at the Rosary at 7:30 1- p.m. in the Stickel Mortuaries Chapel, and the 11 a.m. Mass at St. Francis Church.

Pallbearers will be Stewart Chenard, Jr., Jerry Goodall, Thomas Chenard, Frank Cap pello, Albert Cappello and Albert Tyson.
