Gasper, Ann K.
Ann K. Gasper, of Murrysville, died Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012, in the Arden Court, Monroeville. She was born in Export, a daughter of the late Ignac and Katy Drzewski Kendrella. She was a graduate of the St. Francis School of Nursing, University of Pittsburgh, Indiana, Pennsylvania State University and the University of Oslo, Norway. She was the first school nurse for the Franklin Regional School District and she had 40 years of service. She was a Girl Scout leader, chairperson for the Salvation Army, member of the Murrysville Women's Club, helped organize the Westmoreland School Nurses Association, served as a Red Cross volunteer nurse, volunteer for Murrysville Meals on Wheels and the Export Thrift Shop and helped establish the Murrysville Duplicate Bridge Club. Ann loved to play golf, gardening, experimenting with gourmet recipes and loved a good game of bridge. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward C. Gasper in 2006; and three sisters, Tillie Kuczera, Alice Pass and Mamie Merick. Ann is survived by one sister, Helen Polk, of Arden Court, Monroeville; and numerous nieces, nephews and godchildren. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the HART FUNERAL HOME INC., Murrysville. Addition visitation will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. Monday in Mother of Sorrows Church with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in the church. Entombment will follow in the Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont. If desired, memorials may be made to the Salvation Army or the Mother of Sorrows Church. http://www.hartfuneralhomeinc.com.
