Funeral services for Mack Austin Carter, 72, of Carthage were conducted Friday, May 4, at 2:00 p.m. in the Carthage Chapel of Bass Funeral Home with Bro. Phillip Horne and Bro. Ed Spiva officiating. Interment in the Granville Cemetery. Mr. Carter passed away May 2, 1990 in the Smith County Memorial Hospital. He was a retired salesman for Moorman Feed. Born in Granville, April 4, 1918, he was the son of the late L. R. and Fannie Roberts Carter and a veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Carthage United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Virginia Fuqua Carter, Carthage; one son, Gary Carter, Georgetown, IN; two grandchildren, John Stephen Carter and Synthia Carter, both of Georgetown, IN; three brothers, Malcolm, J.N. and Alton Carter, all of Granville; ad two sisters, Mrs. Vyda Anderson and Mrs. Marie Pharris, both of Granville. Bass Funeral Home, Carthage Chapel, was in charge of the arrangements.
