MANSFIELD-Eileen Yvonne Herring, 92, of Mansfield, went to be with her Lord and Saviour on Saturday, July 14, 2012 at Alterra Sterling House.
Eileen was born September 2, 1919 in Summerfield to the late Harry and Helen (Hanes) Nowell of Zanesville and graduated from Lash Senior High School in 1937.
She married Richard E. Herring of Mansfield on July 4, 1940 who preceded her in death on June 15, 1989.
Eileen attended Mansfield Business College in 1958 and was employed at Westinghouse in February of 1959. She retired in February 1981 after 22 years of service in the Service Publications Department.
She was a member of the Mansfield Products Company Girls Club and an active member of Cornerstone Grace Brethren Church on Lexington-Springmill Road.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Sherry and Larry Takacs of Mansfield; son and daughter-in-law James and Sue Herring of Mansfield; four grandsons Ray Shearer, A.j. Takacs, Bradley (Valerie) Herring, and Aaron (Nikki) Herring, granddaughter Colette (Eric) Prosser; great grandchildren Kylie and Logan Shearer, Amanda, Cassie, Madison, and Shelby Herring, Jayde Herring, Jared and Seth Price, Sierra Zobrist, Kaylee Takacs, Jillian and Zachary Brown, and Gavin Prosser and Breah Prosser; nephew Richard McCormick; nieces Woodie Hunt and Rosemary Herring; step-brother Bill (Marjorie) Smith of Zanesville; numerous cousins, grand nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law Maxine and James McCormick and her step mother Lulu Nowell.
Friends may call Monday, July 23, 2012 from 10am-12pm in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home where Eileen’s funeral will begin at 12pm. Pastor Lester Vnasdale will officiate.
