Carlisle Soldier Dies In Germany
Dale C. Mountz, 19, Killed When Truck Turns Over
Pvt. Dale C. Mountz, 19, was killed in a highway accident in Germany on August 8, according to a War Department telegram to his mother, Mrs. Charles B. Minich, 160 East Penn Street.
The telegram did not disclose details of the accident but according to press dispatches Pvt. Mountz was riding in a 10-ton semitrailer when it plunged down an embankment near Sassen.
Was C.H.S. Alumnus
Pvt. Mountz was with a trucking company in the Quartermaster Corps. He was a senior when he entered the Army in May, 1945.
His father was the late Frank Mountz, Carlisle R.D. Surviving the young soldier, besides his mother, are: stepfather, Charles B. Minich, three sisters, Mrs. Leora Thumma and Ethel Mountz, both at home, and Mrs. Stella Rhinehart, Carlisle R.D. 2; a brother Lee Mountz, Carlisle R.D. 3; a step-brother and three stepsisters, Nelson Minich, Mrs. Evelyn Kelly and Marie Minich, all of Carlisle, and Gladys Minich, Gardners R.D. 1.
The body will be sent to this country and funeral services will be held on its arrival.

CARLISLE SOLDIER KILLED IN GERMANY
Pvt. Dale Cecil Mountz, 19, son of Mrs. Charles B Minnich, 160 East Penn St, Carlisle, was killed in a highway accident in Germany on Aug 8, the War Department has informed his mother.
The telegram did not disclose details of the accident but according to press dispatches, Private Mountz was riding in a 10-ton semi-trailer when it plunged down an embankment near Saasen.
Priven Mountz was with a truck company in the Quartermaster Corps, entering the army in May 1945 while he was a senior in Carlisle high school. His father was the late Frank Mountz, Carlisle.
Survivors are: in addition to his mother, a stepfather, Charles B Minnich, three sisters, Mrs Leora Thumma and Ethel Mountz, both at home, and Mrs Stella Rhinehart, Carlisle, RD2, a brother Lee Mountz, Carlisle RD3, a step brother and 3 step sisters - Nelson Minnich, Mrs Evelyn Kelly and Marie Minnich, all of Carlisle and Gladys Minnich of Gardners RD1.

Rites Tomorrow For Dead Soldier
Body of Pvt. Dale C. Mountz Arrives From Germany
Military funeral services for Pvt. Dale C. Mountz, who was killed in a truck accident in Germany on August 6 will be held tomorrow at 2 p m in the J. R. Shulenberger Funeral Home, with burial in Westminster Cemetery.
The body arrived here from Germany on Thursday, Chaplain Raymond H. Firth, Carlisle Barracks, will officiate at the service and garrison troops will participate.
Pvt. Mountz, who was with a Quartermaster trucking company. lost his life when a truck tumbled down an embankment. He was a senior at Carlisle High School when he entered the service on May 9, 1945.
He was the son of Mrs. Charles B. Minnich, 160 East Penn Street.
