Fred was a son of Dr. Reilly Jefferson Alcorn (my great-grandfather, Lafayette Alcorn's, brother) and Dr. Cora Hilton Alcorn. He had one sister, Wilma May Alcorn Chance and an infant brother who was born and died in 1910.

Fred married Helen Dorrance about 1925 in Idaho and had 4 known children: Audrey C. Alcorn Tibesar (1926-1984), Robert D. Alcorn (1927-2012), Fred "Fritz" Alcorn (1931-1991) and Joanne R. Alcorn Graves (1933-2004).

His paternal grandparents were Harmon Alcorn and Elvira Smith Alcorn who married on June 7, 1856 in DeKalb Co., TN.

His maternal grandparents were James Hilton and Mary Jane Randall Hilton who married on December 15, 1868 in Vivian, Waseca, MN.
