Services For Bill Winder

Funeral services for William H. "Bill' Winder a 30-year resident of Mojaye, were held on July 31.
Mr. Winder was born June 20,1919, in Shannon, Ca. He passed away July 28, from a heart attack suffered while checking a breakin and theft from his wrecking yard on Hwy. 58. He made his home at 16234 "K" St.
Winder had been in the cattle business with his father in, both California and Nevada, and had also followed the rodeo circuit for many years. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II. He had operated the wrecking yard on Hwy. 58, one mile east of Mojave, for many years.
He is survived by his wife, Rose, at the home; two sons, William of Bakersfield and Robert of Sioux Falls, So. Dakota; daughter Barbara, Upland; and a brother, George of Los Angeles.
Rev. James Maloney, St. Francis Church, delivered the eulogy at the 2:00 p.m. services held at the Stickel Mortuaries Chapel. Interment followed at the Mojave Cemetery.
The pallbearers, all long-time friends of Mr. Winder's were Owen Carder, Art Davis, Larry Cleveland, Jack Pittman, Harold Baldwin, and Dave Logan. Stickel Mortuaries were in charge of arrangements.
