Gust Bengtson Dies in Santa Barbara hospital

Mr. Gust Bengtson passed away on the morning of Nov. 10, 1965 at the Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara where he was a surgical patient.
He and his wife, Delphine, had been active workers in the Mojave Community Congregational Church and in school affairs. He had worked for the Douglas Aircraft Company at the Edwards Air Force base from 1952 to 1962 when he became employed by the Mojave Unified School District where he worked until he retired in June of 1965. Mrs. Bengtson has been a member of the faculty of the Mojave Unified School district for several years.
Mr. Bengtson was born on July 4, 1903 and had lived in Boron before moving to Mojave. The Bengtsons have one daughter, Mrs. Audrey Duntley, of Mojave and he has three brothers, Bill, of Boron, Arthur of Lake Park, Minn., and Oscar of Auduban, Minn., and a sister, Anna Jacobson of Lake Park, Minn. Three grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services are pending. Stickel Mortuary may be called for details.

Services held for Gust Bengtson

Funeral services were held at the Mojave Community Congregational Church at 2 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 15, 1965 for Gust Adolph Bengtson of Mojave. Services were conducted by Rev. Bruce I. Inglis and Rev. Walter Beach and burial followed in the Mojave District Cemetery with the Stickel Mortuary in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Bengtson, who was born in Lake Park, Minnesota on July 4, 1903, passed away in the Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara, California on Nov. 10, 1965 following surgery.
He was a retired employee of the Mojave Unified School District and a former employee of the Douglas Aircraft Company.
Surviving are his widow, Delphine, and a daughter, Audry Duntley both of Mojave and three brothers: William, of Boron; Arthur, of Lake Park, Minnesota; and Oscar, of Audubon, Minnesota. He also is survived by a sister, Anna Jacobson, of Lake Park, Minn. and three grandchildren.
Mr. Bengtson, who was an active member of the Community Congregational Church, had lived in Kern County for 13 years.
