Pine River - Mrs. Carrie Rice, 86 formerly of the Backus- Mildred area, died at the Cambridge Nursing home. She was born at Winnebago, Dec. 22, 1882. She is survived by three sons, Melvin of Howard Lake, Harry of Hollandale and Donald of Stillwater; Three daughters, Ethel Atkins of Cambridge, Ruth Elledge and June Satre in Washington; two brothers, three sister, 19 grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral services are planned for 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Nortland Funeral home, Pine River. The Rev. J. Marshall Newton of Cambridge will officiate and burial will be in the Mildred Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home beginning this afternoon.
