November 27, 1921 he was united in marriage to Lenora M. Slough. To this union was born one daughter.
He was a member of the Christian church of Denver, veteran of World War I and a member of the American Legion. He moved to Haddam upon his retirement in 1961.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Joe of Liberal; nephew, Buell Schiltz of Clay Center.
He is survived by his wife of Haddam; daughter, Jody; two grandchildren; sister, Martha Schiltz of Clay Center.
Funeral services were held at the United Methodist church of Haddam conducted by the Rev. John Webster. Interment was in Haddam cemetery.
