Rose Marie "Rosemary" Kennedy
Birth: Sep. 13, 1918
Suffolk County
Massachusetts, USA
Death: Jan. 7, 2005
Jefferson County
Wisconsin, USA

Younger sister of U.S. President John F. Kennedy. Known as "Rosemary" during her lifetime, shes was a shy and mentally slow child. The family had difficulty dealing with Rosemary's problems, and in 1941 her father, Joseph Kennedy Sr., asked a neurosurgeon to perform a prefrontal lobotomy, which was considered a possible magical cure. This did not have the effect that was foreseen, and afterwards Rosemary was incapable of living a normal life. She was institutionalized at St. Coletta's home for the mentally disabled near Jefferson, Wisconsin, since the 1940s. (bio by: Scott Maxwell)

Sweet Rosemary, as St. Patrick drove the snakes out of Ireland...when you left this life, God drove all the mental incapacities out of your brain. Now, your capabilities and knowledge are of a degree so glorious! HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!
