He was born in Greenville and was a son of the late Thomas V. and Blanche Snipes Brown.
He was retired from B & F Roofing Co. in Greenville; was a member of Friendship Baptist Church and a US Navy Veteran.
Surviving are his wife, Grace Tankersley Brown of the home, one daughter, Nancy (James) Nix of Marietta, S.C. and a step-daughter, Connie (David) Wix of De Rio, Tx., three grandchildren, six great- grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 11:00 a.m. in Friendship Baptist Church of Whitmire. The committal service will be conducted at Graceland Cemetery in Greenville at 3:00 p.m.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Church.
