SCOTT, Andrew (Jack) aka "The Sweet Potato Man" of Littlerock, Calif. As honorable as any human being could live his life, Andrew Scott lived his. Born March 20, 1923, Andrew was called home to be with the Lord on August 15, 2009. Being honored even in death, he passed peacefully away in his sleep at the age of 86. He actively served on the Deacon Board and Church Treasurer of Living Stone Cathedral of Worship for 35 years and had the best sweet potatoes around. He was truly an icon in the community. Always sharing love and laughter, he will surely be missed. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Scott Sr., and Marie Dean Scott; his sisters, Hattie Stallworth and Lela Austin; his brother John Scott, Jr.; his daughters, Andrea Scott Gill and Diane Oakley; his son, Joseph (Skip) Reed, Jr., and the love of his life, his wife Georgia Bell Scott. He leaves to cherish his memory one sister and two brothers; Lucille (Early) Gandy of Palmdale, Calif., JT aka Pete Scott of San Leandro, Calif., and Clifford (Emma) of Atmore, Ala.; one brother-in-law and four sisters-in-law, Ira Hunt of Alma, Ala., Viola Powell of Los Angeles, Calif., Shirley (Leon) Henry of Rialto, Calif., and Beatrice Hunt of Chicago, Ill., three daughters, Roselene (Ed) Smith of Mobile, Ala., Patricia (Freddie) Graham and Theresa (Donald) Scott Jackson both of Palmdale, Calif., and one son, Maurice (Mary Ann) Scott of Lancaster, Calif., thirty-four grandchildren, twenty-four great- grandchildren, two great-great- grandchildren and two godchildren Stephanie Isom of Canoga Park, Calif., and Rodney Woods of Littlerock, Calif., along with a host of family and friends. Friends and loved ones are invited to share their stories and show their love and support at the wake: Friday, August 21, 2009, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Hicks Mortuary, 8837 East Palmdale Blvd, Palmdale, CA 93543, 944-4595 or fax 944-6513. Services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, August 22, 2009, at Living Stone Cathedral of Worship, First Missionary Baptist Church, 37721 North 100th Street East, Littlerock, CA 93543.
