Jennie Klompien died at the age of 82 years.

Funeral services will be held March 6 at 2 PM at the Bethel Christian Reformed Church in Churchill for Jennie Klompien, 82, who died March 1 at the Gallatin County Rest Home, Bozeman.

She was born the daughter of John and Pieterke Vredevoght Vander-Woude at Lopersum in the Netherlands on August 26, 1902. She came to the United States with her parents when she was six years old and they settled in the Gallatin Valley where she attended school.

She married George Klompien in August 1925 in Churchill. She and her husband farmed near Manhattan until their retirement and then moved to Churchill. He died in 1980.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Bernard (Pearl) Cole and Mrs. Pete (Joanne) VanDyk, both of Manhattan; four sons, Clarence, Bozeman; John, Kimberly, Idaho; Alvin, Manhattan; and Donald, Dearborn, Michigan; 23 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 2 PM Wednesday at the Bethel Christian Reformed Church in Churchill. Interment will follow at Churchill Cemetery. Public viewing will be at Dokken-Nelson Sunset Chapel only.

She was born as Jantje van der Woude (= of the Forest) in the country village Thesinge, municipality Ten Boer, in the mid-northern part of the Dutch northeastern province Groningen. Her parents are Jannes (later on in the USA: John and James) van der Woude, 49 years aged, and Pieterke (later on in the USA: Priscilla) Vredevoogd, both day-laborers and born in Thesinge (too).

She emigrated in 1909 with her family to the USA.

In 1910 Jennie Vanderwoude (8 y) lived with her parents John (55 y) and Priscilla (48 y), and brothers Henry (11 y) and Claus (5 y) at Manhattan, Gallatin County, in the southwestern part of Montana. In 1920 Jennie Van Der Woude (17 y) lived with her parents John (65 y) and Picterke (58 y), sister Clara (27 y) and brothers Henry (20 y) and Clarence (14 y) in Gallatin County, Montana too.

On 3 August 1925 Jennie Vander Woude married in Manhattan, Gallatin County, Montana at the age of 22 years to the six years older George Klompien, born in Loppersum, province Groningen, son of Krijn Klompien and Jaike Ryskamp [Rijskamp].
