Pauline M. Butler, 85, Topeka, went to be with the Lord on Easter Sunday, March 27, 2005. Pauline was born Dec. 28, 1919, in Ada, Okla., the daughter of Charles M. and Maude White Jackson. She married Dr. Raymond L. Butler on Aug. 2, 1941, in Cleveland, Okla. He died in 1990. She and Dr. Butler moved to Topeka in 1955 after he returned from the Korean Conflict. Dr. Butler established a veterinarian practice in Topeka, and Pauline dedicated her life to raising their four daughters. She was active in the school PTAs, a Blue Bird leader and she taught Bible school at First Christian Church during the summer. Pauline encouraged and nurtured the varying interests of her daughters. She was always sensitive to the needs of others. Pauline worked for Security Benefit Life Insurance and Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Kansas until retiring in 1983. She filled her retirement years with volunteer work for the American Cancer Society, entertaining family and her beloved bridge friends. Her legacy is her family, which she loved with all her heart. She was the guiding force in their lives. There are no words that can express their loss and their devotion to her. She will be forever in their lives and hearts, in spirit. We love you, Mom. Survivors include Victoria Pierce and her husband, Craig, Centennial, Colo., Amanda Newitt and her husband, Timothy, Prairie Village, Melinda Butler, Aurora, Colo., and Natalie Maupin and her husband, Craig, Palm Desert, Calif.; and five grandchildren, Bradley G.
