Edwin Thorne was born in 1861 in Millbrook, Dutchess Co, NY. He graduated in 1882 in Sheffield Engineering School, Yale. He died in 1935 in Babylon, NY. He was buried in Woodlawn Cemetery, Bronx, NY. He was baptized in South Side Church.

He was born at the Crest in Millbrook, NY which was the other family homestead around the old Nine Partners settlement. He went to Hopkins Grammar School in New Haven. He attended Yale & graduated from Sheffield Engineering School in 1882. Moved back to Oak Neck Rd., Babylon, Long Island from Connecticut. He worked with the Mutual Life Insurance Company & the Central Hanover Bank where he became a Vice President. He had a breakdown & retired early. He kept an office & ran 25 trusts for the Family.
