Valle Street
Valle Street, 81, died Saturday, December 12, 1998, at an Abilene hospital.
Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Tuesday at the Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 542 Hickory, with John Risse officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park.
Mrs. Street was born in Yavapai County, Arizona, and graduated from high school in Meyer, Arizona. She attended Draughon's Business College in Abilene. Mrs. Street worked eight years for Montgomery Ward's. She retired in 1984 after working four years as bookkeeper for Street Foundation Drilling, a family business founded by her husband. She moved to Abilene from Del Rio in 1956.
She married M.T. Street in Prescott, Arizona, in 1935. He preceded her in death on March 6, 1984. Mrs. Street was a member of Southern Hills Church of Christ. She was a volunteer with Hendrick Hospice Care and the RSVP Program.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Jane Street of Abilene; a daughter and son-in-law, Vicki and Bob Gauger of Abilene; and four grandchildren, Tracy Justice and her husband, David, Brent Gauger, Kristen Gauger and Stephanie Franklin.
Pallbearers will be Brent Gauger (grandson), Lee Lantrip, Bob Higgins, Bob Taylor, Chuck Myers, Borden Manly, Don Newhouse and Roger Smith.
Memorials may be made to Hendrick Hospice Care, P.O. Box 1922, Abilene TX 79604.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Monday at the funeral home, 542 Hickory.
