Founder of The Kinkaid School. Margaret Kinkaid formed the school 1906 in the family dining room because the public schools denied married female teachers employment.

Daughter of William Hunter and Mary Barrett (Allen) Hunter. She married William J. Kinkaid on Dec. 23, 1899 and was the mother of William Wilstach Kinkaid. She died as the result of an automobile accident.
