CARLISLE, Dec. 11 -- Mrs. Laura Hemminger, 357 West South street, died at noon yesterday in the Carlisle Hospital. Death was due to a paralytic stroke, suffered last Friday. The deceased was the wife of John W. Hemminger. She was a member of the St. John's Episcopal Church, Carlisle. Her husband, a brother, Edward D. Bear of Carlisle, and a sister, Mrs. W. H. Bennington of Cleveland, survive.

Mr. John Wilbur Hemminger and Miss Laura Bear, formerly of Carlisle, were united in marriage at Lincoln, Neb., on Thursday, August 20. Mr. Hemminger is a son of the late Samuel Hemminger, of this county, and is engaged in stock raising and farming, while the bride is well known here, having been employed as book-keeper for John D. Greybill until a few weeks ago, when she resigned and left for the west.
