Harold Dwight Gragg, 93, of Newberry, passed away at 7:40 a.m. Wednesday, December 5, 2012 in Putnam County.

Born April 7, 1919 in Chicago, Illinois, he was the son of Jesse Dwight and Mary Louise (Swanson) Gragg.

He served his country with the United States Navy in World War II. After the war, he worked in Brooklyn, New York at the Navy Yard from 1952-1965. He then transferred to NSWC Crane from 1965 until his retirement in 1978.

Surviving relatives include: two daughters, Lynda Gragg of Yucca Valley, California and Debra Meyer of Greencastle; two grandchildren, Adam Dwight Gragg Meyer and Sally Jo Gragg Meyer; and his beloved dog and friend, Ruby.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn L. Gragg on December 3, 2004 and his parents.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 7, 2012 at Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home in Bloomfield, with Rev. Arlen Pope officiating. Interment will follow in Scotland cemetery.

Public visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and 1 hour prior to services Friday at the funeral home.
