Beulah Coffin was born the 3rd of 3rd mo 1789 in Guilford County, NC, daughter of Levi and Prudence (Williams) Coffin. She was an older sister of Levi Coffin, known as President of the Underground Railroad. On 30th of 5th mo 1819 she married at New Garden Friends Meeting, in North Carolina, Daniel Puckett, a recorded minister in the Society of Friends. Soon after their marriage, Daniel and Beulah were given certificates to transfer to Whitewater Friends Meeting in Indiana, and the following year, they transferred from Whitewater Meeting to New Garden Meeting, also in Indiana. In 1843 both Beulah and Daniel were disowned by New Garden for joining another sect. This was the year that there was a split in the Society of Friends between those orthodox members and members who were active in the abolitionist movement who formed the AntiSlavery Friends. Daniel and Beulah joined the latter group at Newport.

She died the 24th of 1st mo 1865.

She was the mother of five children: Anna, Daniel, Celia, Henry W, and Beulah.
