Laura was raised in New Ulm, Minnesota.

She married Leslie Elijah Overacker on 08/25/1910 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
They move into their first home in Minneapolis soon after they were married in 1911. Laura with her husband Les took on the duties of her brother Ewald's children Ruth and Calvin when their mother Hilda died in 1918.
Because Les worked for the Chicago Great western, they could take trips for free. They traveled to the west coast several times to see both Dingler and Overacker families. They made a trip to New Orleans, and several to Chicago.
The third of three daughters of John and Elise Dingler. Laura grew up in the city of New Ulm MN. She adore the three men in her life, her father John, her husband Les, and the son she raised.
