The obituary of Mary Ann (Adams) Breeding as published in the March 7, 1963, issue of The Mountain Eagle:

Mrs. Mary Breeding succumbs to cancer

Mrs. Mary Ann Adams Breeding, 64, died of cancer at 6:30 a.m. Wednesday at her home at Jeremiah.

She was the wife of James L. Breeding.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Blair Branch Regular Baptist Church. Burial will be in the family cemetery at Isom. Elders James Fields, Manus Ison and I. D. Back will officiate.

Mrs. Breeding was born in Letcher County and was a daughter of James and Sarah Back Adams.

She had been ill since September.

Survivors besides her husband are eight children, Kenneth Back, Washington, D.C.; Glen Hampton, Blackey; Forest Isom, Detroit, Mich.; Lexter Breeding, Lexington; Mrs. Lois Shepherd, Georgetown; Mrs. Norma Jean Logan, Pontiac, Mich.; Mrs. Eva Leen Frazier, Louisville, and Lance Breeding, Isom; two sisters, Mrs. Julia Hampton, Lexington, and Mrs. Hattie Ison, Isom; six brothers, David Adams, Bill Adams, Steve Adams, Charlie Adams, Fred Adams and Herman Adams, all of Jeremiah, and 14 grandchildren.
