Mrs. Leyson was born in Plymouth, Utah, March 1, 1869, witnessing as a child the driving of the last spike in the railroad between Corrinne, Utah, and Dillon, Mont. Since the death of her husband, Bassett C. Leyson, mining engineer, she resided with a daughter, Mrs. C. E. Wall, Portland.
Another daughter, Mrs. Esther E. Bond of Tacoma, survives, as do a son, Craddock P. Leyson, Renton, Wash.; two sisters, Mrs. Frank Nordberg, Van Nuys, Cal., and Mrs. Addie Bartlett, Los Angeles, and four grandchildren.
