Rev. E. L. _Jaaatad of Rushford Dead
Hushfoid. Minn. —(Special to The R?oubllcui-Herald)--Thc Rev. Endrp L. _Jaastad, 91, veteran Rushford pastor, died late this morning at hl.s summer home at Long Lake, Wis., after a brief illness. He lcit heir for tiic cottage two we«ks ago. Mr. Jnastad served during his entirp ministerial career as pastor and assistant pastor of the Rushford Norwegian Lutheran church. He was pastor for 47 years and a.vist an_ pastor for the subsequent three _yrars nnrt in 1923 was honored hero at a golden jubilee celebration. Mr _Janslcd was born at _Hardan-Riv, Norvay. May 21, 1846, and _received his early education In Norway. He _nifiried _Mlss-Phorbjsr A_?a April 12 1869. and the couple came to th? United States on their weddi_:i Misses Laura and Gura Jaastad who resided with their father rtl Rushford, and 12 grandchildren. H_=s wife died September 27. 1921, and five sons a. _' so preceded Mr. Jaastad in death. The body was t ' d arrive at Rushford this evening and funeral arrangements were being completed today.
