Consort of Nehemiah Wade, Mrs. Margaret Wade, aged 40 years. Death year on faded stone may be 1833. Back abt 2008, I wrote and met with Janet at Watson Gravel (cemetery commissioners) regarding the bricks falling out of this above ground, rectangular brick, fading deteriorating Wade tomb (and fixing of Bradbury Cilley cracks). I was stunned to see that no patches had been made to the Wade tomb, as of Nov 2012. The kind Venice Cemetery caretaker of 37 yrs on the job (he said), indicated that a cost estimate of abt $1,500. was received at some point. At that time I had also spoken to Wm. Chatfield, a Cincinnati lawyer (and author of an informative Wade book) who descends from one Wade line; he indicated that there were living descendants of this Wade line (different than his own line), with whom he would make contact. Years passed. At that point, no one was willing to pay for brick tuckpointing...

I finally got to read Wm Chatfield's new 2008 book at Cinti Hist Soc Lib, 929.2 W119-- it is delightful and informative, with many lovely color pictures. Mr. Chatfield, author, tells us that she was nee, Margaret Wallace (1795/1833), the daughter of Robert Wallace -- another staunch Presbyterian line. So his book is the source for her death year and maiden name. Author Chatfield writes that Margaret Wallace Wade had at least 8 children. [p41, The Family of David Everett Wade and Mary Jones Wade, Cincinnati Pioneers, 2008, at repository Cinti Hist Soc Lib]. It was fascinating to read that her eldest child ties into my own Cilley family (see findagrave entries). Chatfield writes that Mary Perry Wade(1814/1852) married Dr. James Stewart (1807/1849), he being the son of a Presbyterian minister; their daughter, Margaret is Margaret Stewart (1845/1916) wife of [Civil War Lieutenant] Isaac R. Anderson [brother of Agnes Anderson Cilley as per Gilchrist mss, register]. He also writes that the Stewarts are buried at Spring Grove Cem so these could be linked to here.

Update July 2017: Thanks to researcher and findagraver, BluMoKitty (#46830270) who has submitted an alternative 1792 birth year including specifics (now entered here on findagrave) for Margaret Wallace Wade. So the 1795 birth year has been removed.

I also notice that it seems Spring Grove burial cards do show Dr. James B. Stewart, MD, died 1849 but interred two years later in 1851 (son of Mary Sherer & James Stewart1) and his widow, Mary P. Stewart (1814/1852, cancer) in Sec. 65 Lot 94. So I have requested edits/links for Margaret's eldest.
