Sweet Judy Broce passed away from this life October 2, 2012. Funeral service will be Monday, October 8, 2012 at 10:30 am at the United Methodist Church in Kiowa, Kansas. Burial will follow at the Byron-Amorita Cemetery.

Judy was born May 15, 1944 in New York City to Deward Blue and Jean Gronemyer Blue. She attended school in South Charleston West Virginia and graduated in 1962.She attended college at NWOSU in Alva, Oklahoma. On May 28, 1964 she married Robert Broce of Amorita. Oklahoma. They lived in Alva, Oklahoma and Judy completed her degree in early childhood education. They moved to Amorita, Oklahoma and she began doing substitute teaching at Burlington, Oklahoma. After that she became a relief postal clerk at the Amorita Post Office where she worked for 22 years. In 1993 she became Post Master at the Burlington Post Office where she worked for 15 years until her retirement. After retiring she was co-owner of Scrapbooking 101 store in Cherokee, Oklahoma. Over the years Judy was involved in numerous civic and community events. She was a volunteer firefighter and EMT and taught EMT training for several years. She was a member of the Burlington Education foundation, served as member on the Cherokee library board and a member of the Jolly 20 homemakers club. Her most beloved joy was her time spent with her grandkids.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Daniel Blue.

She is survived by her husband, Robert; two sisters Jane Blue Thompson of Kiowa, and Janet Blue Monday of Morgantown, West Virginia; two children Kim Broce Walker of Cheney, Kevin Broce and wife, Kelli of Goddard; six grandchildren, April and Nathan Davis, Sierra and Alyssa Broce, Alexis and Kailey Walker; four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
