Freda Marie Gordon, daughter of John Martin Roe and Viola Eveline (Curtis) Roe was born September 18, 1938 in Chariton, Iowa and passed from this life Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa at 74 years of age.
Freda grew up around Chariton and later moved to Osceola where she graduated high school. She was united in marriage to Meryle Lee Gordon on June 10, 1956 in Van Wert, Iowa and two sons, Rich and Doug, blessed this union.
Freda worked for Leon Schools for several years. She took what was to be a short time job at Clarke County Electric and retired 20 years later. Freda enjoyed playing golf and she and Meryle were members of the Osceola Country Club. In her younger years, she enjoyed her friends and their SAD meetings.
Freda was preceded in death by her parents, and two sisters Alice Redman and Peggy Chew.
Freda leaves to cherish her memory; husband, Meryle Gordon of Osceola; son, Rich (Rhonda) Gordon of Pleasantville; son, Doug (Cathy) Gordon of Pella; sister, Lois (Gerald "Shorty") Adamson of Osceola; grandchildren, Bryan Gordon, Dylan Gordon, Hannah Gordon, Brandi Robinson, and Scott Gordon; step-grandchildren, Johanna Puyear, Amy Coachman, and Laura Sopher; six great grandchildren as well as other relatives and many friends.
