A native of Adams County, he had lived in Wells County the past eight years. He was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church East.
He was born July 29, 1916, a son of Joe and Leina Moser Aschliman. His marriage in Wells County on Jan. 7, 1945 was to Ida Gerber, who survives.
Additional survivors are two sons, Ralph and David, both of Bluffton; two daughters, Mrs. Stan (Delilah) Biberstein and Mrs. Steve (Arlene) Stump, both of Decatur; a son-in law, Bob Herring of Bluffton; a sister, Dora Aschliman of Bluffton; 21 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
A daughter, Nancy Herring; a son, Richard; three brothers; one sister and one grandchild are deceased.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Apostolic Christian Church East with ministers of the church officiating.
Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation hours at Goodwin Memorial Chapel are today from 1 to 8 p.m. and at the church Friday for one hour prior to services.
