Harriett R. Garman Ambrose
February 20, 1933 ~ November 23, 2012

Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend left us to be with her Lord and Savior very peacefully.

She was born the youngest child of Russell and Vergie Garman in Garman in Caldwell, Idaho, and was raised on the family homestead in Wilder, Idaho. She graduated from Wilder High School in 1950, and then graduated from the College of Idaho in 1954. After teaching for one year in Mountain Home, Idaho, she married Jene Ambrose, June 11, 1955. They recently celebrated their 57th anniversary.

Harriett was a devout and dedicated Christian, worshipping and serving in many positions at the First Baptist Church of Ogden and later at Grace Bible Ministries where she and Jene worked to establish a new church. She was a dedicated Prayer Warrior and had a huge heart for mission work. Harriett was a very active member of Church Women United, PEO, and an avid supporter of Habitat for Humanity. She was honored by Church Women United as a Valiant Woman, a distinction that she was very proud of. She was an active member of PEO Chapter P and held many offices including two terms as president. One of Harriett's greatest passions was for her work in American Baptist Women's Ministries. She was a guiding force in the operation of the ABW ministry servicing locally and at the state level where she served two terms as Utah State President, as well as other offices.

In addition to deeply loving her close knit family, Harriett loved to travel, seeing much of Europe, Canada, Mexico, Australia and New Zealand, as well as most of the states in the USA.

Harriett is survived by her adoring husband, Jene, her son Jeff (April Burbidge), her daughters Stephanie Woolworth (Tim), and Heather Ambrose (John Robbins). She is also survived by her grandchildren, Desiree Woolworth (Jake Glover), Luke Woolworth (Stacy), brother Houston Garman (Nadine), sister Helen Karn, sister Hester Tuttle (Gail), Jene's siblings, Carmen E. Fitzsimmons, Jerry Ambrose (Shirley), Don Ambrose (Shirley), and Deena Frosaker (David), Many nieces and nephews and countless friends.

A memorial service will be held at Leavitt's Mortuary, 836 36th Street, Ogden, Utah, at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 28, 2012. Family will greet friends at the mortuary one hour prior to serves.

In lieu of flowers, family suggests donations to PEO, SHARE Inc., Church Women United, and Habitat for Humanity.

Please send us your condolences and a memory at
