Son of Ira Belton and Mary Louella Major Taylor, husband of Nell McCants.
GREENWOOD - Ira B. Taylor received a message from the War Department this morning advising him that his son, Private Henry M. Taylor, was killed in action in France on June 6, the first day of the invasion.
Private Taylor had been in service for more than 2 years and had been stationed in England nearly a year. His many friends here will learn with deep sorrow of his death.
Besides his father, he is survived by, a daughter, Ann Taylor Clegg; four sisters, Mrs. Howard Clegg, Mrs. E.A. Williford, Mrs. J.W. Wiltshire and Mrs. F.T. Hollis; and one brother, John B. Taylor.
