Mary Ann Standiford, daughter of Acquilla and Elizabeth Standiford who married in December 1803, was likely born in Kentucky, but raised in Harrison County, IN.

She married Issac Wilcoxson, son of Aaron and Hannah Wilcoxson, 26 Feb. 1829. They lived in Floyd Co. IN, then moved to Iowa c. 1842 (sold Floyd County land in 1841) with their children and Issac's brother Berryman. Issac died in Lee County, Iowa in 1845. The attached letter was found in the Iowa probate file and shows that she was an educated woman.

Mary Ann brought her children back to her father's house in Indiana where she died in 1847. This has always struck me as remarkable. The orphaned children were under the guardianship of their uncle Squire Standiford and lived separately with various relatives after her death. Isaac Wilcoxson left an estate worth $240 (a much larger sum then than today). There are guardianship records in Indiana and probate records in Iowa.

There was a newspaper death announcement for her.

Children:
William 1829-1909
Minerva Elizabeth 1832-1901
David Mitchell 1834-1908
Henry Harrison 1837-1913
Acquilla 1840-1925 (died in San Diego, CA, no grave located)
Isaac Johnson 1844-1936
