Mrs. Eliza Duckworth, beloved wife of Pleasant Duckworth, passed away at the family home in the south part of town at 12 o'clock last night, age 73 years and 8 months.
The deceased, who had been ill with rheumatism and dropsy for a long time, was a former resident of Vermillion, moving to Frankfort with her husband about three years ago. Failing health compelled her to lead a quiet life and so was not so well known among our people, but she was universally liked and respected by all who knew her, and at Vermillion she had a large circle of friends.
Every effort was made to relieve her sufferings during her long illness, but all in vain, and death came to her relief last night.
Besides her husband, she is survived by one son and two daughters, O. H. Duckworth, Mrs. Maude Garrison and Mrs Dora Shaw, all residents of this city. The family have the sympathy of all in their grief.
Funeral services will be conducted by Rev. O. K. Hobson at the First Methodist Church at 3 o'clock Friday afternoon, and burial will be in the Willow Hill Cemetery (Frankfort).
Eliza Shuck Duckworth was the daughter of Sanders Shuck (1798-1851) and Sarah (Salley) Elizabeth Blake (1815-1928).
