Funeral services will be Fri., June 6, for George Lee Christensen, 60, Badger, who died on June 1, 2008. the services will be held at Badger Lutheran Church.

Christensen was born on Sept. 28, 1947, at Volga to Ralph and Hazel (Johnson) Christensen. He attended school in Badger through the 8th grade and graduated from Arlington High School. He briefly attended South Dakota State University and then served in the Army during the Vietnam War in 1969-70. He was awarded a Bronze Star, Army Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal and Vietnam Service medal.

He married Bonnie Jorenby on Dec. 16, 1977, at Badger. He was in the family farming operation in Badger for most of his life and also helped operate a family-owned manufacturing business. He spent the last several winters near his parents in Mesa, Aria.

Survivors include two sons, Todd (Renae) and Kurt; his parents, Ralph and Hazel Christensen; and a sister, Janet Bjordahl.

The Johnson-Henry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
